“Self-love is not opposed to the love of others”.
Dr. Karl Menninger
Focus on other people can mess you up many times.
When you focus on other’s opinions, expectations, and even doubts, these limitations can become your own, if you take them on without questioning.
When you focus on others, you worry about what people think of you rather than what you think about yourself.
It is easy to get so caught up in your work, your goals, and your responsibilities to other people that you neglect your well-being. It can also feel selfish to focus or make time for yourself. You focus on achieving the big things, so why waste time with yourself?
But, it is the wrong attitude. To achieve external success, you have to learn to focus on yourself.

Focus on yourself can also good for your physical health. You will learn to reduce stress and focus on taking care of yourself. Putting yourself first is a great way to take the time to do the things you enjoy.
Do not worry about being selfish. Recharging and spending time alone is not selfish.
Focus on you is not selfish. It is an act of self-love. But when you are in the habit of focusing on others, shifting can be difficult.
How to Focus on Yourself
Spending Time Alone
Add time to your schedule: It is normal to spend a lot of your time with family, friends, and co-workers. Socialization is good but loneliness and focus on yourself is also equally good. Create time each week to sit quietly with your thoughts. Choose a time that works for you and pick a place where you would not disturb.
Take a walk each day: Alone walk is a great way to spend extra time for yourself. You can choose to use this time to think through something, let your mind stroll. Walking in the morning can help you to stay strong for the day to come. You could also walk in the evening or at lunchtime to avoid any stress.
Ask yourself questions to get to know yourself: Building a strong relationship with yourself will help you learn to focus on yourself. To start this procedure, list questions to ask yourself. The most important thing is that you answer them honestly.
Treat yourself with kindness and patience: You treat yourself like you treat others. Ask yourself if you care as much about yourself as others do. If you do not think so, or cannot tell, make some changes.
Write a list of steps to take to improve your life: When you are thinking about your relationship with yourself, check to see your life is going in the right direction. You can make a list of aims you want to attain. Create action items that bring you closer to the things you love.
Practicing Self-Care to Avoid Stress
Meditate for 5 to 10 minutes a day for mental health: Practicing mind meditation show to reduce stress and anxiety. Create a meditation practice for yourself where you can focus only on your breath and clearing your mind.
Exercise most days and eat healthily: Make it a point to take good care of your body. It is very easy to take care of others and ignore yourself. Schedule a workout like you would any other appointment so you cannot skip it.
Spend some time outside from the house: Going to nature is a great way to reconnect with you. Try going for a long walk on the natural series or even enjoy the sunset from the porch. Staying out gives you to be alone and refreshed with your thoughts.
Sleep for 7 to 9 hours to reset your mind and body: When life becomes difficult, you can sacrifice your sleep to do everything. It is the opposite as tired can make you dizzy, tired and independent. Avoid checking your phone in bed. Shut down all electronic devices an hour before bed to help restful sleep.
Put fun activities on your schedule: Prefer fun and relaxation. Include fun activities in your schedule so you remember to keep this date with you. You must know how to control your emotional intelligence.
Spend time with friends: Spending time with your buddies is a great way to include more fun in your life. It is an important part of self-care. Schedule fun outings with your friends once a week.
Just Focus and Celebrate Your Strengths
Don’t compare yourself to others: It is easy to focus on others instead of yourself. Get in the habit of focusing on your performance or emotions rather than on other people. This means you do not have to worry about other people succeeding. Although it may not be easy to change your mindset. Consciously try to think about yourself. It will be easier with practice.
Write reasons why you self-compare: It is normal to compare yourself with others. Consider when you are more likely to measure yourself against others. Make a list of things that cause you to negatively compare yourself to others. And then avoid them whenever possible.
Reward yourself for reaching a goal: When you do something good, you have to praise yourself. You will not ignore the great success of your friend or partner, so do not ignore your success. Say to yourself, “I’m proud of myself”.
